Meet the Artist

Wayne Center for the Arts and Heartland Point present emerging artist Alison Eby. Eby’s oil paintings draw inspiration from the natural world and feature unorthodox use of color. Her paintings will be on display March 10 through April 25. Come meet the Wooster native and Oberlin graduate at a reception on March 26 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. at Heartland Point.

As a child Alison’s dream job was to become a “Professional Colorer”.  Although her career path has changed some, Alison’s passion for art and creativity has not faltered.   Alison’s love of texture and untraditional colors has culminated in a unique style.  Her subject matter can be described as eclectic at best, for she is constantly finding inspiration in books, travel and daily life.  In much of Alison’s work, her love for animals and the influence from her rural upbringing can be noted.

Alison was born and raised in Wooster, and continued her higher education at Oberlin College.   While completing her undergrad, Alison was privileged to continue her study of art for a semester in Florence, Italy at Studio Art Center International.  She completed her Bachelors in 2012 with a double major of Studio Art and Art History.  Her art is currently displayed in areas around Wooster.
